Dr. Lu Li is a full professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering of National University of Singapore, and also an affiliate professor in the Department of Materials, Metallurgical, Mining & Geological Engineering at UniversityofIdahosince 2001. Dr. Lu received his Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering from theTsinghuaUniversity, People's Republic ofChinain 1977 and 1982 respectively, and received his Ph.D from Katholiek Universiteit Leuven,Belgium, in 1989. He joined the National University of Singapore as a research scientist in 1991 and was promoted to a full Professor in 2004. 
       Dr. Lu's research interests include nanostructured materials, and functional thin films such as all-solid-state microbatteries and ferroelectric thin films. He has been invited to numerous conferences. He is one of the two authors of Mechanical Alloying, Kluwer Academic Publishers,USA, the first book of its kind in this area. Dr. Lu is also one of the three authors of the books of Laser-induced Materials Processes for Rapid Prototyping, and Image-based Fractal Description of Microstructures, Kluwer Academic Publishers,USA. He has published more than 320 papers in international journals. Dr. Lu has been involved in wide international collaborations in nanostructured materials, ferroelectric thin films and microbatteries with various universities. 
       锂离子电池是当今国际公认的理想化学能源,具有体积小、电容量大、电压高等优点,被广泛用于移动电话、手提电脑等电子产品,日益扩大的电动汽车领域将给锂离子电池带来更大的发展空间。中国和世界主要发达国家出台了很多扶持新能源汽车的政策。新能源汽车等七大战略性新兴产业的发展规划,将从政策层面对中国电动汽车进一步推动。本讲座从锂离子电池正极、负极、电解液、隔膜等材料展现了锂离子电池的发展现状和未来发展的趋势,包括其中的科学研究问题和产业化发展的思考及建议。 
       吕力,新加坡国立大学机械工程系教授,19771982年分别获得清华大学学士和硕士学位,1989年获比利时鲁汶大学冶金与材料工程系博士学位后在该校从事博士后研究,1991年加入新加坡国立大学机械系工作至今,2004年被聘为新加坡国立大学教授。目前是美国Idaho大学兼职教授,日本大阪大学和澳大利亚悉尼大学客座教授。吕力教授在压电和铁电材料,能源材料(包括传统锂离子电池和全固态锂离子电池,超级电容器)等领域成果卓著。在Phys. Rev. B, Appl. Phys. Lett., Acta Mater.等国际期刊上发表论文300余篇,获亚洲、欧洲和美国授权专利多项,且部分专利正在商业化进程中。在国际会议做基调发言和特邀报告20余次,撰写学术专著3部,组织国际学术会议10余次。现任Functional Materials Letters杂志主编,Materials Technology杂志副主编,Nature子刊Scientific Report能源材料领域编辑。
